Under the big oak tree in morning light, Sophie kneels beside a closed blue satchel with gold buttons, brows furrowed, tugging at the clasp. Fallen leaves scatter around the roots.
Sophie found a blue satchel by the big tree. "What's inside?" she wondered aloud. The satchel had pretty gold buttons. Sophie tried to open it but couldn't. "I need help," Sophie said. She decided to find a friend.
At the sunny playground slide, Sophie and Europa stand side-by-side, both gripping the blue satchel’s straps and pulling gently. Silver buttons twitch loose while colorful swings sway behind them.
Sophie met Europa at the playground. "Hi! Can you help me?" Sophie asked. Europa smiled and nodded her head. "Let's work together," Europa said happily. They both pulled the satchel gently. The buttons began to wiggle loose.
On the soft playground grass under midday sun, Sophie holds the now-open satchel as bright crayons and folded paper spill out. Europa beams, hands mid-clap, sunlight glinting off the scattered art supplies.
The satchel opened with a pop! Inside were colorful crayons and paper. "Wow! Art supplies!" Sophie cheered loudly. Europa clapped her hands with joy. "Let's draw pictures," Europa suggested. Sophie agreed with a big smile.
In afternoon playground light, Sophie shows a yellow-sun drawing while Europa lifts her purple flower beside her. Crayons, paper, and the open blue satchel lie on grass as they share a quick hug.
Sophie drew a bright yellow sun. Europa made a beautiful purple flower. "Your flower is so pretty!" Sophie said. "Your sun is wonderful too!" Europa replied. They hugged and laughed together happily. The blue satchel brought them friendship.
